Taipei City Fire Department Festival-HEART Bus Project 2014.05
CONCEPT
HEART bus is an immersive educational experiencing bus for citizens to learn the skills of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and Heimlich Maneuver through playing 3D games with interactive applications on the bus.
This project was conducted by Taipei City Fire Department and Academia Sineca to develop an AR-based Interactive CPR Simulator for emergency care. According to the Department of Health, the use of CPR or AED within the first 3-5 minutes of a person suffering from a sudden cardiac Arrest (SCA) can significantly increase a victims chance of survival from less than 5% to as much as 70% or higher with a defibrillator. In addition, Taipei City Fire Department points out that about 4.5 million pedestrians in Taipei with 9% suffer from SCA in public. As a result, this real-time interactive learning system would enable learners to know the speed and depth to which to extent the force applied on the heart if they encounter the situation. The Heart bus propagates and educates Taipei citizens the skills of emergency care, increasing survival rate of pedestrians to handle emergency conditions.
RESPONSIBILITY
As the producer for 3D modeling, I was in charge of facilitating and creating all 3D models within the project. I worked and held discussions with a team of designers and advertisement executives to produce the final promotion advertisements including making videos, animation, and game design.
