​Concept

In Chinese, a cat sleeping in the afternoon creates a moment of relief since the facial expression of cats can induce relaxation. In addition, white orchids represent gracefulness and elegance, which provides feelings of calmness and comfort. Apart from these two elements, I chose Chinese ink and paper as a medium because Chinese ink creates scenes of tranquility and gentleness. The hue of ink selected is not too colorful and bright, to aid a sense of relief and serenity.
